RALEIGH, NC – Poyner Spruill LLP is pleased to announce that Kelsey Mayo, Kristen Miller, and Richard Prosser have been elected as new Partners in the firm.

As a member of the Employee Benefits section, Kelsey Mayo’s practice is focused in the areas of Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation. She has extensive experience working with governmental, non-profit, and for-profit employers on all aspects of qualified and non-qualified plans, welfare benefit plans, fringe benefit plans, and executive compensation plans. She routinely represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor in matters involving employee benefits. Kristen Miller is a member of the firm’s Creditors' Rights and Bankruptcy section, she is primarily focused on bankruptcy, collections, and foreclosure matters. She manages multiple case files concurrently, thus allowing clients to source the entire process to one firm and realize results efficiently and cost-effectively. With a reputation for collegiality and approachability, Kristen is well regarded not only by clients, but also by members of the legal community—from law enforcement personnel and process servers to opposing counsel and court staff. "Having a customer service attitude is an important part of who I am as an attorney," she notes.

Richard Prosser concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation and creditors’ rights. He regularly represents banks and other financial institutions in commercial and retail collections actions, workouts, restructurings, receiverships, bankruptcies and all aspects of collateral recovery, including foreclosures, evictions, claim and delivery (replevin), and other pre- and post-judgment remedies. Richard has experience litigating a wide variety of business disputes, including contract disputes, real estate disputes, employment disputes, and matters involving fraud, misrepresentation and unfair and deceptive trade practices. Richard also devotes a significant portion of his practice to construction law and litigation, including representation of general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in both an advisory capacity and in prosecuting and defending construction claim disputes, often involving payment and performance bonds and lien enforcement.
