David’s practice focuses on commercial real estate finance and development, including retail developments, leveraged leasing, utility projects, biotechnology facilities, medical office buildings, manufacturing facilities and tax-exempt public finance projects.
Representative Experience
- Represented a group of lenders in connection with a $400 million refinancing of 43 manufacturing facilities in 23 states.
- Represented a REIT client in connection with the contemporaneous refinance of 21 hotels in 19 states.
- Represented a REIT client in connection with the acquisition of four buildings containing approximately 1.2 million square feet of furniture showroom space.
- Represented a large building supply company in connection with the sale-leaseback for multiple facilities across the United States.
- Represented a biotechnology company in connection with the acquisition and construction of a $200 million manufacturing facility.
- Represented a publicly traded utility company in connection with a construction loan for a $105 million electrical generation facility.
- Provided counsel in numerous public finance transactions involving, among other things, water and sewer projects and other infrastructure development.
- Provided counsel in international business transactions in Africa and Asia involving project development and finance and infrastructure privatization.
- Represented a public manufacturing company in connection with the sale-leaseback of several of its manufacturing facilities in five states.
- Represented a public company in connection with the sale-leaseback of its new corporate headquarters in North Carolina containing approximately 400,000 square feet.
- Represented a public company in connection with the sale-leaseback of its new corporate headquarters in Florida containing approximately 350,000 square feet.
- Represented a developer in connection with a public/private partnership with a North Carolina municipality to develop a new office building as part of a downtown revitalization program.
- Represented a hospital in connection with the development of medical office buildings adjacent to the hospital.
