Richard concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation and creditors' rights. He regularly represents banks and other financial institutions in commercial and retail collections actions, workouts, restructurings, receiverships, bankruptcies and all aspects of collateral recovery, including foreclosures, evictions, claim and delivery (replevin), and other pre- and post-judgment remedies. Richard has experience litigating a wide variety of business disputes, including contract disputes, real estate disputes, employment disputes, and matters involving fraud, misrepresentation and unfair and deceptive trade practices. Richard also devotes a significant portion of his practice to construction law and litigation, including representation of general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in both an advisory capacity and in prosecuting and defending construction claim disputes, often involving payment and performance bonds and lien enforcement.

  • Represents banks and other financial institutions in a wide variety of lender liability actions.
  • Represents equipment leasing companies, commercial finance lenders, and equipment vendors in litigation and enforcement of their lease and finance transactions.
  • Represents construction clients in claims disputes, involving construction defects, delay, warranty claims, mechanic's/materialmen's liens, bond claims, and the purchase, sale and warranty of goods.
  • Represents construction clients in contract drafting and negotiations and review and preparation of other legal documents in the construction process.
  • Represents property owners in lease disputes, including lease defaults and terminations, summary ejectment (eviction) proceedings, and related collections actions.
  • Represents and advises community associations in connection with general covenant enforcement and collection of dues and assessments, including liens and foreclosures.
