Poyner Spruill LLP proudly supported Susan G. Komen for the Cure^® at the 2009 Komen NC Triangle Race for the Cure^®, which took place June 13 at Meredith College in Raleigh.

A team of more than 45 attorneys, staff, friends and family members joined together to raise an impressive $4,660 and walk in support of breast cancer research. The Poyner Spruill team raised money via a variety of activities including bake sales, catered fundraising breakfasts and "fun" raffles.

“This event provides the ideal opportunity for us to give back to the community in which we live, work and serve.  Up to 75 percent of funds raised by the Triangle affiliate of the Komen Foundation are used for research, education and support programs in the community,” said Julie Hampton, a litigator with Poyner Spruill and organizer of the firm’s effort.  “So many people, within our firm and beyond, have been affected in some way by breast cancer, and we are proud to support this campaign year after year.”

2009 marks the ninth year in a row that Poyner Spruill has participated in the Komen NC Triangle Race for the Cure.
