SOUTHERN PINES, N.C., September 30, 2009 – Poyner Spruill LLP announced today that
C. Marcus (Marc) Harris has relocated his practice from the firm’s Charlotte office to the Southern Pines office. Harris, who has been with the Firm since 1993, brings more than 35 years of experience in corporate and business law and employee benefits to the Sandhills.
Throughout his career, Harris has represented health care providers and other businesses ranging from tax exempt, governmental and for-profit employers, to both large and small physician practices. Harris’ corporate law experience includes mergers and acquisitions, simple and complex business and contractual issues, and U.S. subsidiaries of foreign businesses. His knowledge of health care law has assisted physicians in affiliation with hospitals as well as ongoing operational issues including employment agreements and compensation arrangements. He will continue to represent major North Carolina hospitals in executive compensation and employee benefit issues.

Harris is a member of the North Carolina and Moore County Bar Associations, and has been Chair of Carolinas College of Health Sciences since 1996.
