Poyner Spruill LLP Team Steps Out for Diabetes

10.18.2011

RALEIGH, NC - Poyner Spruill LLP proudly supported the American Diabetes Association at the Step Out | Walk to STOP Diabetes event in Raleigh on Saturday, October 15th.

The team “Poyner Spruill Dia-Beat-These” boasted 15 walkers and 2 stroller-riders.  Our team joined almost 1,000 other walkers to heighten the awareness of diabetes.  Poyner Spruill attorneys, staff, family and friends also raised over $1,000 to fund research to control and cure this disease that affects so many.

Team leader Jill Walters was pleased with the enthusiasm and support from Poyner team members.  “It was great to see the support from our 15 enthusiastic walkers (and two stroller riders) on Saturday morning but perhaps even more encouraging was that we had at least 15 additional Poyner Spruill employees who made donations to this great cause – whether by online donation, check, cash or by putting their spare change in the donation jars.  When I turned in our donations to the local ADA branch, they were amazed that we were able to collect $100 in pennies and nickels alone!”  said Walters.
