Poyner Spruill Attorney Graduates from Leadership Raleigh

06.11.2008

RALEIGH, NC – Poyner Spruill LLP, one of North Carolina’s oldest and largest law firms, today announced that Brian F. Corbett is a graduate of the 2008 Leadership Raleigh program. Corbett was also named a partner in the firm in January 2008.

“As a city resident and employee of a Raleigh-based company, I’m grateful for the opportunity to witness first hand many of the assets and challenges within the city of Raleigh,” said Corbett. “The collaboration with city leaders and a talented group of local professionals was invaluable.”

Offered by the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Raleigh is designed to develop leadership skills while providing participants with a bird’s-eye view of community issues. Participants are exposed to community involvement opportunities and meet with key community leaders to discuss relevant Raleigh and Wake County issues.

“Leadership Raleigh is one of the most popular forums offered by the Chamber to prepare the leaders of our future,” said Bo Dempster, Poyner Spruill’s managing partner and a member of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. “The number of applicants continues to grow and selection is getting more competitive. The 2008 class was the most competitive group of applicants in the history of the program.”

Brian Corbett is engaged in a diverse multi-state commercial legal practice with experience in structuring and closing complex real estate and asset-based loan transactions, and restructuring loans currently in default (soft workouts). He has also represented large financial institutions in connection with loan syndications, participations, various portfolio asset purchases and dispositions. Brian received his J.D. from Wake Forest University and B.A. from Loyola College in Maryland.
