Poyner Spruill LLP Offers "IP 101" Law Seminar
Seminar Designed to Educate Regional Businesses About Protecting Intellectual Property

04.24.2009

RALEIGH, NC – Poyner Spruill LLP will host an “IP 101” seminar to provide regional business leaders with an introductory synopsis of intellectual property law from a business perspective. The free session will be held Thursday, May 21 at Poyner Spruill’s downtown Raleigh office and will begin at noon.

Eric Stevens, partner and head of the firm’s IP practice area, will lead the session, describe the different types of intellectual property, and offer suggestions on the best way to protect them. The seminar will use real world examples to give a basic overview of trademark, copyright, patent and trade secret law.

“Many businesses in this region routinely handle complex intellectual property issues and have sophisticated processes for developing and protecting these assets,” said Eric Stevens. “But every business, from a local convenience store to a multinational conglomerate, has valuable intellectual property to protect. The ‘IP 101’ seminar is an excellent opportunity for companies of all types to learn more about how to identify, preserve and exploit their business innovations.”

Seating for the seminar is limited and there is no registration fee. Those interested in participating can register online by visiting http://www.poynerspruill.com/newsandevents.
