Rob Tyler has been elected to the board of directors of CED (formerly the Council for Entrepreneurial Development). Tyler, who practices in the firm’s Raleigh office and leads the Emerging Technologies Companies Practice Group, is the first Poyner Spruill attorney to be elected to the organization’s board.
Headquartered in Research Triangle Park,
CED is a private, nonprofit organization which identifies, enables and promotes high-growth, high-impact companies and accelerates the region's entrepreneurial culture.
"After years of experiencing the benefits of CED both personally and professionally, it is a privilege to be elected to the board,” Tyler stated. “The relationships I’ve made with the entrepreneurial community through CED have benefited my clients and practice immeasurably.”
Tyler has been a constant presence in the Triangle’s entrepreneurial and technology sectors for the past 13 years. His experience includes representing medical devices, life sciences and information technology companies in equity and debt financings, technology licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters.
An active member of the community, Tyler is on the board of directors of the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation and a Charter Member of the Carolinas Chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs. He has served on the Steering Committee for CED’s MedTech Conference, as a lecturer with CED’s FastTrac Program and as a panelist at the CED’s Streak Sessions. In addition, Tyler served for five years as Executive-in-Residence at North Carolina State University’s College of Management’s Technology, Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Program.
"We are pleased to have such a committed member of the Triangle’s entrepreneurial field added to our board,” said Joan Siefert Rose, CED president. “Rob’s legal experience and dedication to the CED community will continue to accelerate the entrepreneurial culture of the area.”
