Poyner Spruill LLP announced today that Suzanne Griffin has rejoined the firm as a partner in its Raleigh office. She was most recently Deputy General Counsel for RBC Bank (USA), where she provided primary legal support for Commercial Lending, Corporate Real Estate, Mergers & Acquisitions and the Trust Department as well as for various subsidiaries including NBC Securities, Inc. and RBC Capital Advisors, Inc.

Griffin returns to familiar ground, first joining Poyner Spruill in 2002 as a partner in the firm’s Financial Services and Real Estate Groups. Prior to that, Griffin served as Vice President and General Counsel of ContiBeef LLC and Assistant General Counsel to Premium Standard Farms, Inc. With her return, Griffin brings a substantial breadth of knowledge and varied experience in general corporate and transactional matters to the firm. In addition to Raleigh, over the course of her career, she has practiced law in Chicago and Boulder, CO, is member of the Bar of three states and has developed relevant transactional experience that spans the country and a wide range of industries. 

Griffin's practice at Poyner Spruill focuses on the representation of clients in financial services, general corporate, real estate and transactional matters. She has handled numerous merger and acquisition transactions involving financial institutions, agri-business companies and livestock producers, often involving operating assets in multiple states. She has significant experience with commercial leases, strategic outsourcing contracts, employment law and federal and state regulatory law in the context of both financial services and agricultural industries.

A graduate of the University of Illinois with a BS in Agriculture, Griffin received a JD from Northwestern University. She is a member of several professional and community organizations, including Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women, Our Lady of Lourdes School Principal's Advisory Board, and the Junior League of Raleigh.
