Chris concentrates his practice primarily in the areas of creditors' rights, bankruptcy and civil litigation. He represents institutional lenders in workouts, collections, foreclosures and related litigation.
Representative Experience
- Provides legal advice and analysis to banks in negotiating loan workouts, modifications and forbearance arrangements
- Represents creditors in bankruptcies, collections, foreclosures, evictions and related litigation
- Represents lenders in civil litigation, including the defense of lender liability claims and the pursuit of fraudulent transfer, claim and delivery, attachment and related claims
- Represents businesses, lenders and property owners in general civil litigation and real estate litigation
Prior Legal Experience
Prior to joining Poyner Spruill in 2010, Chris was an Associate with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he represented lenders in sophisticated real estate financings ranging in size from $10 million to over $1 billion and often involving more than one lender and multiple levels of both mortgage and mezzanine debt.
