Deborah practices in the areas of Creditors' Rights, Civil and Commercial Litigation, and Bankruptcy. She frequently represents creditors in workouts, foreclosures, collections, bankruptcies, and lender liability matters. Her practice also includes representation of businesses and individual clients in a wide variety of civil litigation matters before State and Federal Courts, including contract disputes, fiduciary duty claims, property disputes, and fraud claims.
Representative Experience
- Representation of banks and other lending institutions in defending lender liability claims, managing workouts, and pursuing collection, foreclosure, and claim and delivery actions
- Representation of secured and unsecured creditors in both commercial and consumer bankruptcy cases
- Civil and commercial litigation involving contract disputes, unfair and deceptive trade practices, fraud, real property disputes and trade secrets claims
- Winery Licensing and Certification by federal, state and local authorities
- Representation of municipalities, the local housing authority, self-insured churches and assisted living facilities in state and federal court

Prior to joining Poyner Spruill, Deborah served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable John B. Lewis, North Carolina Court of Appeals in1999.
