Kristen joined the firm in the fall of 2008.
She is a member of the Creditors' Rights and Bankruptcy Section. She represents both secured and unsecured creditors including both lending institutions and health care facility creditors. She practices in the areas of foreclosure, bankruptcy and collections, with a focus on past-default workouts. Kristen regularly represents creditors at foreclosure hearings, claim and delivery hearings, and on motions for relief from automatic bankruptcy stays. She also advises creditors regarding compliance with the FDCPA and other consumer protection laws.
Prior Legal Experience
Prior to joining Poyner Spruill, Kristen was a Legal Intern with The Elder Law Clinic in Winston-Salem in 2008. She also worked as a Summer Associate for Hornthal Riley Ellis and Maland in Elizabeth City and as a Legal Intern in the Office of the General Counsel, Winston-Salem/ Forsyth County Board of Education, in Winston-Salem in 2007. Kristen served as a Law Clerk with the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati, in Cincinnati, OH in 2006.
