Tom has been trying cases in New York and North Carolina  since 1983.  In personal injury litigation, he has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in over 100 personal injury cases including medical malpractice, automobile, railroad, trucking, products liability and other negligence actions.  Tom has represented and tried, to jury verdict, various commercial litigation matters including contract and fraud actions as well as represented contestants in various probate litigations.

Tom represented the Delaware Insurance Commission as Receiver for National Heritage Life in over 15 lawsuits in federal and state court to recover the $440 million lost.

Tom has managed caseloads in excess of 100 personal injury cases both plaintiff and defendant from inception to conclusion including investigation, pleadings, discovery, depositions, trial preparation, trials and appeals.

Prior Legal Experience

Prior to joining Poyner Spruill, Thomas practiced with O’Keefe & Lindgren, LLP in White Plains, New York and also with Henderson & Brennan.
