Attorneys in our Employee Benefits group advise clients on all aspects of benefits law. We represent businesses, associations, governmental units and other clients of all sizes in a wide range of employee benefit matters. We have particular expertise in helping clients design the right plan for them, and advising clients on how to implement and administer those plans. When plans have been administered improperly, we assist clients in identifying and fixing the problems. We also handle employee benefits issues in mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring and litigation. Our expertise includes:

Employee benefit issues are often intertwined with other legal issues. In those situations, members of the Employee Benefits group work closely with Poyner & Spruill lawyers who concentrate in other areas of the law. For example, for our publicly held clients and clients involved in acquisitions, we work closely with our corporate and securities lawyers. We also work closely with our employment lawyers in matters involving severance pay, family leave laws, and age and disability discrimination.
