Little Known Facts About Hospice - According to the July 2008 census statistics, 48% of North Carolina’s population was younger than 35 years old, while 12% was 65 or older. In the 2006 hospice reporting period, 0.9% of hospice admissions in North Carolina were younger than 35 and 79.8% of the admissions were 65 years or older. Therefore, less than 1% of the hospice admissions in North Carolina come from 48% of our population, while approximately 80% of our hospice admissions come from 12% of our population.
