Our representation relates to the acquisition, disposition, financing and utilization of commercial real estate, as well as the development of new corporate, manufacturing, commercial, office and retail facilities and the development of large residential properties. Legal services also include serving as principal negotiators in such transactions as well as providing representation in zoning and land use matters and drafting and negotiating complex documents involving all forms of real property financing, accounts receivable financing and working capital lines of credit. Our attorneys are experienced in advising financial institutions and provides representation to financial institutions, developers, and businesses in loan workouts, foreclosure matters and real estate-related credit matters.

• Primary outside counsel to a regional shopping center developer headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. The firm assists with the acquisition, development and leasing activities of this client with respect to shopping centers located throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. 
• Primary outside counsel to a large North Carolina based commercial bank engaged in banking throughout North Carolina and the Southeast.  Working with CBRE, the firm assists with all aspects of this client’s real estate ownership and leasing activities, including ground leases, build-to-suit leases, office space leases in single buildings and multi-tenant buildings and shared-use leases.
• Primary outside real estate leasing counsel to a Fortune 500 multi-national insurance company with facilities throughout the United States.  The firm assists this client with substantially all of its office leasing activities, including its subleasing activities.  Approximately 200 leases handled over 5 years in multi-tenant office buildings, strip shopping centers and stand-alone buildings.  Related lease work includes lease assignments, subleases and partial and complete lease terminations. 
• Primary outside real estate counsel to a large, non-profit medical center located in Wake County North Carolina. The firm assists this client with ground leases, build-to-suit leases and office space leases for its medical center operations throughout Wake County, North Carolina and in surrounding counties. 
•  Special outside counsel to a large North Carolina corporation engaged as both an owner and franchisor of family-styled restaurants throughout North Carolina and other areas of the United States.  The firm assists with all aspects of this client’s restaurant leasing activities, both as a landlord and as a tenant. 
• Special outside counsel to a large North Carolina corporation engaged as both an owner and a franchisee of fast-food restaurants throughout North Carolina and in other areas of the United States. The firm assists with various aspects of this client’s real estate needs, including leasing as both a landlord and tenant of office space, restaurants and other types of facilities.
