Poyner Spruill LLP is pleased to share seven firm attorneys were named to Business North Carolina’s 2020 Legal Elite. They were honored in a recent special section of the magazine.
This year, 573 lawyers were selected as Legal Elite, about 3% of the state’s 19,000 active attorneys. Poyner Spruill attorneys to receive the honor include:
- Drew Erteschik (Appellate, overall winner)
- Matt Bouchard (Construction)
- Kevin Ceglowski (Employment)
- Karen Chapman (Litigation)
- Bo Dempster (Real Estate)
- Chad Essick (Real Estate)
- Kelsey Mayo (Young Guns)
Since 2002, Business North Carolina has honored attorneys with the Legal Elite publication, a listing of the state’s top lawyers in business-related categories. Winners are not chosen by BNC editors but by other lawyers.
Active members of the North Carolina State Bar are eligible to vote for peers deemed to be at the top of their fields. Attorneys can’t vote for themselves or for members of the Legal Elite Hall of Fame — previous top vote-getters in a particular specialty. Votes for lawyers from another firm are weighted more heavily than votes for colleagues at the same firm.
