Licensure, Credentialing, & Peer Review

Proper licensing and credentialing are critical to any health care organization. Errors in licensing, certification, and credentialing can lead to mission critical issues for a health care organization. We can help avoid those outcomes. Similarly, we guide our clients towards accurate and collegial interaction with licensing, credentialing, and enrollment agencies, and proactive maintenance of government approvals required to develop, operate, and be paid for health care facilities and services.

We represent licensed, credentialed, and certified facilities and providers in obtaining and maintaining licensure, government-program enrollment, and certification. We advise our clients concerning federal and state requirements, including Medicare Conditions of Participation and Medicaid regulations, rules, and policies—especially with respect to hospitals and surgery centers, long term care, hospice, dialysis, and radiation treatment centers.

We represent licensed professionals before all North Carolina health care licensing boards, and many federal agencies, including:

When appropriate, we also represent North Carolina licensees who are applying to, under investigation by, or being charged by boards in other states.

We also represent parties in hospital medical staff investigations and hearings, sometimes representing the hospital, sometimes the clinician, or serving as a hearing officer. We also write, review, and negotiate medical staff bylaws.
