Poyner Spruill LLP is pleased to announce John Michael (J.M.) Durnovich has been named a 2021 North Carolina Lawyers Weekly Rising Star honoree. Across the state, 26 attorneys received this recognition in 2021.
Durnovich and his fellow honorees were honored at a virtual awards show on May 27 and in a special North Carolina Lawyers Weekly feature on May 27.
North Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s Rising Star awards recognize lawyers who graduated from law school within the last 10 years and have already made an outstanding impact within their firm and the broader legal community.
Editor David Donovan commented on the 2021 honorees in the feature, saying, “[the honorees] bring energy and commitment and passion to the practice of law, but also bring with them an infusion of new ideas and perspectives for how we as a profession can better serve our clients and our communities.”
Durnovich represents individuals, businesses, and government bodies facing a wide range of challenges, with a concentration in government-related conflicts, constitutional litigation, and business disputes. In addition, he regularly represents clients through appeals at all levels of state and federal courts, including at the U.S. Supreme Court.
