Poyner Spruill Welcomes Education Law Practice Group

Poyner Spruill LLP partner Paul Cox has been named to serve as a member of the North Carolina Advisory Council for Keep Our Republic. This nonpartisan civic education organization is dedicated to strengthening confidence in elections, the rule of law, and constitutional checks and balances.

Cox focuses his practice on government-related matters, campaigns and elections, litigation, and appeals. He regularly handles complex election and constitutional law matters, including appellate litigation, election-related disputes, voter privacy issues, and challenges involving state voting laws. Cox previously served as general counsel to the North Carolina State Board of Elections and as a special deputy attorney general at the North Carolina Department of Justice.

Through the Advisory Council, Cox will help support statewide nonpartisan programming focused on election administration, civic education, and public trust in democratic institutions. Cox’s appointment reflects his extensive experience in election law and public service, as well as Poyner Spruill’s continued commitment to supporting civic engagement and public institutions across North Carolina.
