RALEIGH, N.C. — Benchmark Litigation’s recently published 40 & Under Hot List included recognition for Poyner Spruill Partner Caroline Mackie in the South Region. The practitioners on the list are considered among the top young talent in their litigation communities in the United States and Canada.
Caroline was 1 of 28 attorneys in North Carolina to be honored.
Previously, Caroline has been ranked in Business North Carolina magazine’s “Legal Elite” Young Guns category (2016) and honored as Super Lawyers “Rising Star” (2015-2018). She concentrates her practice on complex commercial and governmental litigation and has represented financial service institutions, closely held corporations, governmental entities, and regional and national companies in a broad range of legal matters. This includes experience with disputes involving real estate, commercial contracts, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and unfair and deceptive trade practices.
Caroline has significant experience representing governmental entities in litigation in state and federal courts. She also has significant experience in litigating voting-related and redistricting cases at the trial and appellate levels.
In addition to her notable professional achievements, Caroline also stays heavily involved in community and volunteer organizations. She has served in multiple leadership roles for Meals on Wheels in addition to work with the Pro Bono Appellate Counsel, North Carolina Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and Law Day Committee and the Wake Forest University School of Law Young Alumni Board. She is also a member of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys and the Wake County Bar Association.
