RALEIGH, NC – Poyner Spruill is pleased to announce that Deborah Sperati has been selected as an honoree for the North Carolina Lawyers Weekly 2014 Women of Justice Award.

The Women of Justice Awards recognize women across the state of North Carolina who have demonstrated leadership, integrity, service, sacrifice and accomplishment in improving the quality of justice and exemplifying the highest ideals of the legal profession. Deborah Sperati is a partner in the firm’s Rocky Mount office. She practices in the areas of Civil and Commercial Litigation, Bankruptcy, and Creditors’ Rights. She frequently represents creditors in workouts, bankruptcies, collections, and lender liability matters. Her practice also includes representation of businesses and individual clients in a wide variety of civil litigation matters before State and Federal Courts, including contract disputes, fiduciary duty claims, property disputes and fraud claims. She also leads the firm’s Brewery Winery and Distillery Practice Group, representing businesses in obtaining proper licensing and permitting by federal, state and local authorities.

Sperati received both her B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
