Poyner Spruill Welcomes Education Law Practice Group

Poyner Spruill is pleased to announce attorney Nick Tosco was appointed by the Charlotte City Council to the City’s Arts and Culture Advisory Board on October 4, 2021. Selected from over 100 applicants, Nick led all candidates in Council votes and is one of eighteen professionals who will serve on the Board.

The City of Charlotte created the Arts and Culture Advisory Board in June 2021 as part of an effort to overhaul and increase funding for local arts and culture groups. The City’s goal is to develop the arts and culture sector into a sustainable and diverse industry that creates jobs, raises Charlotte’s profile as a destination, and addresses issues such as social justice, education, workforce development and equitable access to opportunity.

As a Board member, Nick will assist in allocating public and private funding to arts and culture organizations in the community and developing a 10-year comprehensive cultural plan for arts and culture in Charlotte.

Nick concentrates his practice in the areas of local government law, land use, zoning, and complex civil litigation. He also devotes part of his practice to civil litigation, representing clients in a wide range of complex government-related disputes, land use litigation, zoning disputes, and condemnation/eminent domain litigation.
