Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy Associate Attorney

Are you ready to take the next step in your legal career? The law firm of Poyner Spruill is looking for an associate with 1–3 years of experience in creditors’ rights and bankruptcy law to join our team.

This position will allow you to work on complex and interesting cases involving both the transactional and litigation aspects of bankruptcy and creditor’s rights, in a hands-on and supportive culture. This position can be based in either the Raleigh or Charlotte office and does provide for some opportunity for remote work. The ideal candidate will have experience in the creditor’s rights, collections, and bankruptcy areas, and feel confident in a multitude of settings including hearings, mediations, negotiations, and client meetings.  Candidate must be licensed in North Carolina, have a JD from an accredited law school, and have a strong academic background. We are looking for research, writing, and advocacy skills in an individual who wants to be part of a collaborative and active team.

Our Team: 

We are experienced in dealing with distressed loan restructuring, bankruptcy, appeals, lender liability litigation, and other creditor-oriented issues such as foreclosure, reclamation, consignment, UCC issues, and receiverships in state and federal court. Our clients include secured and unsecured creditors, including institutional and agricultural lenders, participated loan creditors, property management companies, insurance companies, manufacturers, and many other business clients. We represent creditors in business and consumer cases under Chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13, as well as business debtors in workouts and restructurings and in cases filed in Chapters 7 and 11; regularly appearing in the Bankruptcy Courts and state courts across each North Carolina as well as other states.
