Biography
Caroline regularly assists employers in responding to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and misconduct allegations, including internal complaints and agency investigations. She represents clients across a range of industries, including construction, trucking and transportation, technology, professional services, education, real estate and property management, and healthcare. Her understanding of these different sectors and their distinct legal challenges enables her to provide tailored guidance that addresses both immediate risks and long-term business concerns.
Caroline draws on her dispute resolution experience to develop legal arguments and strategies suited to the audience, forum, and objectives at hand. Clients value her ability to assess risk early, identify practical solutions, and pursue favorable outcomes efficiently. Her experience includes:
- Advising employers on internal investigations involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and misconduct.
- Developing strategic responses to allegations of wrongdoing and workplace misconduct, helping clients minimize risk and achieve efficient resolutions.
- Counseling and representing employers in responding to agency charges, investigations, subpoenas, audits, and enforcement proceedings, including the EEOC, DOL, and other state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Counseling businesses on litigation, risk management, and employment issues.
- Representing clients in mediation, arbitration, and state and federal courts, tailoring advocacy strategies to achieve favorable outcomes in each forum.
In addition to her litigation and counseling practice, Caroline frequently presents trainings and educational programs for employers and industry groups.
Before joining Poyner Spruill, Caroline was an extern for Justice Paul Newby on the North Carolina Supreme Court. She also graduated in the top 5% of her law school class.
Caroline played on the Boston College varsity lacrosse team all four years of her undergraduate program. She served as team captain during the 2016 season. In her free time, Caroline enjoys gardening, watching professional baseball, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
