Biography
Margaret works closely with school administrators and board members as they navigate the practical and legal issues that arise in public school operations. She helps clients respond to student rights and discipline matters, special education compliance questions, personnel and employment issues, policy development and governance concerns, open meetings and public records requirements, and broader state and federal regulatory compliance obligations.
Her practice is grounded in helping education clients make informed decisions in real time, from routine operational questions to more complex challenges involving evolving education regulations. She brings a practical perspective to her work, drawing on her prior experience as a sixth-grade science teacher in Charlotte to understand the realities school leaders face when serving students, families, employees, and their communities.
