Poyner Spruill Welcomes Education Law Practice Group

Raleigh, NC – Brett A. Carpenter has joined Poyner Spruill’s Raleigh office as an associate, with a focus on helping clients with labor and employment law matters.

“I like helping clients navigate legal issues in a variety of settings, including hearings with administrative agencies, in state and federal courts, and in arbitrations,” Carpenter says.

Carpenter received his J.D. magna cum laude from Campbell University in 2014. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2005. In addition to working as a contract attorney and summer associate, Carpenter has also clerked for a United States magistrate judge in the Middle District of North Carolina and a North Carolina superior court judge in the North Carolina Business Court.

Before law school, Carpenter worked in Hawaii, Alaska and Australia and traveled extensively, visiting 45 countries.
