Poyner Spruill Welcomes Education Law Practice Group

Poyner Spruill LLP is pleased to announce that partner Chad Essick has been recognized in the Leaders in the Law list by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.

This honor celebrates attorneys in the middle of their careers who have established reputations for excellence. The list is a part of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s Excellence in Law Honors Program, which includes various categories of recognitions for attorneys across the state.

Essick represents clients in all aspects of real estate acquisition and development with a primary focus on land use, zoning and entitlements. Essick works with land owners, developers, and local governments in a myriad of land use, zoning, and real estate tax issues including vested rights, constitutional matters, zoning ordinance interpretations, and property tax disputes. Outside of his law practice, Essick is a leader in the firm, serving on the Management Committee, Ombudsman Committee, and Strategic Recruiting Committee. He is also involved in the community and was recently elected to the Governance Board for the Wake County Continuum of Care, which helps those experiencing homelessness.
