In recent years, land use and zoning issues have become increasingly complicated and contentious. We represent developers and land owners in obtaining all types of land use and zoning approvals, including legislative rezonings, ordinance amendments, development agreements, site plan and subdivision approvals, and quasi-judicial decisions, such as special and conditional use permits, certificates of appropriateness, appeals of administrative decisions, and variance requests. We also represent developers and local governments in a variety of litigation matters involving land use disputes in both state and federal court. These issues include vested rights, constitutional matters, scope of local government authority, and certiorari appeals from local land use boards to the superior and appellate courts.
