Poyner Spruill Welcomes Education Law Practice Group

Poyner Spruill LLP is pleased to announce the firm has elected Chris Dwight as a partner in the firm, effective July 1, 2023.

“Chris has provided exemplary work on behalf of our clients,” said Poyner Spruill managing partner Dan Cahill. “He is a valuable asset to both the firm and our clients. We look forward to seeing Chris continue to succeed in his new role.”

Dwight focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions for companies across a broad range of industries, as well as outside general counsel services. He represents buyers and sellers in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. He also regularly furnishes outside general counsel services. Additionally, Dwight advises clients on a broad range of corporate and securities matters, including corporate reorganizations and restructurings, commercial contracts, corporate governance, the formation and maintenance of business entities, and securities offerings.

Dwight attended Brown University for his undergraduate degree, Harvard Graduate School of Education for his master’s, and the University of North Carolina School of Law for his Juris Doctor. For the past three consecutive years, Dwight has been ranked among Super Lawyers magazine’s North Carolina “Rising Stars” for his work in mergers and acquisitions and business/corporate law.
