Kurt focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and employment matters.

Biography

Kurt represents businesses, executives, and professionals in complex commercial disputes in federal and state courts, including the North Carolina Business Court and the United States Bankruptcy Court. His practice spans a wide range of commercial matters, with experience advising companies on issues involving breach of contract, fiduciary‑duty claims, unfair and deceptive trade practices, trade secrets, insurance coverage, and restrictive covenants. He also counsels clients through internal investigations and compliance matters, including those involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and has extensive experience managing multi‑party litigation and large‑scale e‑discovery.

In addition, Kurt advises employers on a broad spectrum of workplace issues and represents businesses in discrimination, retaliation, and other employment‑related claims. His employment practice includes matters arising under ADA, ADAA, FMLA, USERRA, ADEA, FLSA, REDA, OSHA, and Title VII, as well as guidance to senior leadership and HR teams on hiring, discipline, terminations, accommodations, and responses to administrative agency complaints.
