Poyner Spruill LLP partners Kelsey Mayo and Jesse St.Cyr have recently been named to Business Today’s Top 10 Powerhouse Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Lawyers list. This award honors skilled attorneys practicing employee benefits and executive compensation law in North Carolina.
Mayo, who serves as lead of Poyner Spruill’s Employee Benefits Group, has extensive experience working with governmental, non-profit, and for-profit employers on all aspects of qualified and non-qualified plans, welfare benefit plans, fringe benefit plans, and executive compensation plans. She is widely recognized for her knowledge on ERISA and HIPAA compliance mandates. With her background in accounting as well as her study for the actuarial exams, Mayo understands how benefits integrate with a company’s financial concerns. She also serves as Co-Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Pension Benefits.
St.Cyr brings his comprehensive knowledge of employee benefit plans and executive compensation arrangements to his clients. He routinely represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, and Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation in a wide range of matters. St.Cyr also guides his clients through the merger and acquisition process, negotiating and reviewing executive compensation arrangements, designing and modifying termination of executive compensation arrangements, and handling filing and taxation requirements.
