Poyner Spruill Welcomes Education Law Practice Group

Poyner Spruill is pleased to announce our new class of Summer Clerks has joined the firm. This summer we are excited to welcome six clerks to our firm who will serve in our Raleigh, Charlotte, and Rocky Mount offices.

Asa Bell, III will serve at our firm’s Charlotte office. Adia Craig will serve in our Raleigh office along with Sam Holder, Caroline Margolis, and Rohun Shah a returning summer clerk. Ridge Mazingo will serve in our Rocky Mount office.

Asa Bell, III is a rising 3L and MBA candidate at the University of Cincinnati College of Law and Lindner College of Business, respectively. He previously worked as a Summer Associate at a regional law firm in Ohio and as a Summer Law Clerk at a Cincinnati-based business incubator. He also served as Managing Editor of the University of Cincinnati Intellectual Property and Computer Law Journal and Honor Council Associate Chair.

Adia Craig is a rising 2L at North Carolina Central University School of Law. Adia received her B.S. in Communications from East Carolina University. She previously served as a pro bono public relations consultant for Purple Pantry of ECU. She is a former recipient of the Campus Community Outreach Award. She was recently announced as a book award winner in her contracts course. She is also ranked in the top 5% of her law school class.

Sam Holder is a rising 3L at the University of South Carolina School of Law. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from North Carolina State University where he was also Valedictorian. He is a Merit Scholar and editorial staff member of The ABA Real Property, Trust and Estate Journal.

Caroline Margolis is a rising 3L at Campbell University School of Law. She received her B.A. in Economics and Applied Psychology and Human Development from Boston College. She is a Dean’s Excellence Scholar and MLG Immersion Scholar. She is also a member of the Trial Team and Law Review.

Rohun Shah is a returning summer clerk and rising 3L at Wake Forest University School of Law. He received his B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is currently pursuing his JD/MBA degree at Wake Forest. He is President of the Student Bar Association, a member of the National Moot Court Team, and was the champion of the 49th Annual Edwin M. Stanley Moot Court Competition.

Ridge Mazingo a rising 3L at the University of North Carolina School of Law. He received his B.A. in Political Science and Psychology from North Carolina State University. He is a Membership Board Member of The Carolina Club and Grassroots Committee Member of Now or Never North Carolina.

“We are excited to welcome our new class of summer clerks. The firm recognizes what a challenging year they’ve had navigating law school during a pandemic. We are grateful that we have been able to continue our program and ensure an educational and rewarding experience for our clerks,” says Amanda Sherin who leads the firm’s summer clerk program.
